Aim high

I was falling into that trap last year of associating days with task, like work or appointments or chores. This year I’m going to start looking at the opportunities each day presents for living. Not in the selfish sense but in a way that focuses on the enjoyable, creative and personal connections, type of activities.

Can I spend time with family and friends? Did I exercise? Did I photograph and write? Did I sculpt? Did I laugh. Did I do something to improve my life and someone else’s today? To aim at things that make those around me happy and fulfilled. In other words aim high at the right things in life.

I haven’t done something tangible for someone else today yet. Actually not feeling my best so sometimes its smart to take care of yourself before worrying about helping others. This back to work after a week off is brutal. Working holidays is brutal. But I’m fortunate enough to have some time to do this, spend time with my better half and get on the treadmill again, so life isn’t all that bad.

Sorry about the lack of energy today. Seems like I’m mailing this in without elaborating on my theme of aiming high. So much more can be said but time and effort on my part are lacking so I’ll see if I can make a better start to the week on Tuesday. Much health and happiness to all today. Best of luck dodging the rain today and tomorrow.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
