Thursday ride

Time for some cruising. The beast will be washed. The top will be put down. The camera gear loaded. The goal is cruising to parts of Howard County I haven’t visited in a while to see. So much changes here so fast. I can’t find some of the roads that used to be a staple of my drive or ride on buses as a youth. So its time to explore again and see what I can find.

With that sun today the top stayed up. But its time for an evening cruise with it down. Photo by Mike Hartley

Ready for today.

It will be fun to get some fresh images and have the camera in hand again. I think I’ll drop by my old neighborhood and see if the Kindler road to the old wooden burnout bridges are still there. I doubt it but it might stir a few memories of the piles of rubber left on those planks. As of late I’ve grown tired of the congestion in this county. It’s a far cry from when we moved here in 61.

Wish I had more time to share today but I’ll try to make up for it with some constructive thoughts or criticisms tomorrow.

Random Thoughts

Just learned of a long time work friend passing. We were the same age and both had decades together at the job. He was an outspoken ally and one who I enjoyed his opinions and thoughts. We would talk retirement and the enjoyment we looked forward to. It has really made me think about what time I have left and how to make the most of it. But most of all tonight its given me a pause. It’s hard to accomplish much after hearing that.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
