September, when sanity slips away

I’m losing it already. You see its normally the end of the month that I start to panic. But as we start September with the first two days high temps at 67 and 64 degrees it is a blunt blow below the belt and reminder that dirty winter is on its way. OK, I know it’s a bit early to start complaining about the cold but why wait. I refuse to relinquish summer in September. The grill WILL ROAR. The sun WILL SHINE. The ocean temps WILL BE WARM. The top on the convertible WILL REMAIN DOWN.

This can’t be the end of summer already.

I refuse to put away the shorts and break out the jackets and sweatshirts. I will not surrender the sands to the winter winds washing away the endless footprints of joy that summer put down. So as Bluto said in the movie Animal House – “WHO’S WITH ME” as I drive screaming with joy to the beach this month.

Random Thoughts

Labor Day weekend is upon us here in the states. Fitting that I work Labor Day I guess. Anyway I meant to give a word to the wise about working. The extra money is nice when you work holidays. But the time off with friends and family, is far more valuable, by a wide margin.

Had a nice dinner at the Town Grille this evening. Heard their breakfast is great, might have to try that soon.

That video of an officer arresting a nurse for doing her job is very disturbing. It makes you wonder how often this happens every day. I have a ton of respect for law enforcement. They have the most difficult and dangerous job around. They are asked to be many things. They don’t get paid squat for it. Most of them are the best and most compassionate people there are. And I say that because they put their life on the line every day for their fellow human being. But when incidents like that happen, the trust that so many good ones work hard for every day, is damaged greatly. What was more disturbing is that his fellow officers didn’t stop him.

Looks like we will be grilling between the raindrops Saturday.

I don’t regret ever working my hardest and best for people who may not have recognized, appreciated or respected it. I never wished anyone ill will if I felt unfairly treated. I would never damage my integrity doing something out of revenge. I haven’t burned bridges behind me. If asked I’ll say anything to management that I would say to any coworker. Maybe that is why they avoid me.

Well, manged to fit in the first post of the month just in the nick of time. Trying to start a new run of publishing consistency.
