I’ve got nothing today, at least that is the way it feels as I start this. Don’t know if it was just a difficult week. Still not feeling 100% so that contributes to my less than productive day. Was a fun day, don’t get me wrong. Had a very good time. But just kind of frustrated with myself for not picking up the camera more and wasting time and opportunities.
I should be shooting every day. I’ve got to be a better finisher. For instance my drafts folder is up to 180 items. Some good ideas and some good starts but no finish. So tomorrow is a new day and another attempt to change some lazy ways. I guess I’m just frustrated that I can’t find a photo someone has asked to use, I’ll find it but man I’ve got to get better organized.
No wonder I can’t think, I’m stressed. And when I’m stressed the mojo is lacking. So I took a minute break from this and looked at some email. One of them was the Terps this week calendar and I see the Michigan State game is this Sunday and that Greivis Vasquez is collecting unused pens, pencils, notebooks and paper for underprivileged kids in PG county. Which triggered a bell. I remembered that I had a box of pencils in one of my desk draws that had been there for years.
When I pulled them out I remembered why I had kept these. They were at my first job in Newspapers 42 years ago. Stromberg Publications in Ellicott City. At first I thought well it’s finally time someone put them to good use. But then I had pangs of parting with them. I thought of a friend or two that I still am close to from there and wondered if they would want a few.
Again another fault of mine. Procrastination. Now I’m torn as to just give the box of them to a friend who is going to the game to donate at the door or keep them and give him $5 to donate. I always have a problem in keeping many keepsakes which are a lot of junk to most people. And yes I should throw a few things away, just ask my better half.
But I have some that are deeply special that I’ll never part with. Some are on my office wall. Others tucked away in boxes. Maybe these pencils will stay tucked away in their box a little longer.
Random Thoughts of the Day
It’s nice to laugh with family.
I think I’ll enjoy some sound sleep tonight.
Sometime you just get lucky with life’s choices.
To those about to do the Polar Bear Plunge – we salute you.
You know, I’m always more relaxed when our President is abroad.

You have 180 items in your draft folder??? Jiminy Cricket! I think I had 21 items in my draft folder once, but it was during a very busy month and I knew I would not have daily craft time.

Its a mixture of things. Its ideas I get of maybe a few sentences, some more with images to start to illustrate. Some are thoughts that I’ve expanded on but uncomfortable with the tone or risk of sharing my thought or opinion. Some are personal or professional that I might publish at a later date. Some are my random thoughts that might not make the cut that day but come back again in a different form or light. But as you may have guessed I’m not the most organized person. So I might go back and do some weeding. I’m sure there is some trash in there that could be cleaned up. Hope your week is off to a good start.

I commend you for jotting down your ideas or filing a photo! Does the draft folder allow for subfolders? My week has started pretty well, although the frigid wind today has me ready to take up residence on the basement couch with a fuzzy blanket. I hope your week is moving along merrily as well!
