Couldn’t resist and true shock and awe

After talking about crabs the other day, I had to have them, I couldn’t resist the voices any longer. So I made my crab cakes last night. A great feast was had. We work hard, so its nice to treat ourselves here and there. And what better than backfin crab cakes. Just had the other one for lunch and feeling like a king. Really nice start to a Monday.

And back to the reality of the full work week ahead. No problem, I have a reward after this with a short following week. As one of my best friends would say “Can I get a HELL YEAH?” I’ll power through the week, actually enjoying my work more lately. Probably because I’m balancing it with my own interest outside the job that pays the bills.

Oh crap, I made the mistake of turning on the news early today. Well, the one thing probably over 95% of the people in this country could agree on, is now up for debate. For as long as I’ve been alive, Russia has been the enemy. Russia was not to be trusted. Russia abused human rights. Russia is our largest nuclear and military threat. Russia government is completely opposed to our Democratic society.

But now, our president disagrees with the most advanced intelligence service in the history of man. Apparently I’ve underestimated the power and appeal of this guy. The blind acceptance of words and actions in coordination the Russian message and the Republican faithful has dumbfounded me. It kind of makes me feel there isn’t an issue he won’t get his way on. And that seems very dangerous to me. He did what he said though. He would bring about lots of change. And nobody is willing to say no on apparently any topic and that is scary.

Well on one hand I do have a leg up. I have a Russian friend at work and maybe he can start teaching me that language.

I’m sorry about that rant. I’m just dumbfounded by the choice the president just made. And I will not be silent or complicit. And if this issue goes down along party lines then we truly are a completely divided country.

Random Thoughts of the Day

I’d like to have Trump banned from Arlington National Cemetery.

Again, the professional people in service of defending and protecting this country are the only thing really keeping us safe.

When will one or many of the grown ups in our country stand up and put a child in its place?

Days like this give you pause. Like so many before them.

It is my goal to get back to the more mundane observations and enjoyments of life in a post later today. I had been making an effort to leave politics out of the day-to-day here, but I was caught in the shock and awe. My apologies.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
