When I sit down I don’t always have a thought on what I’m going to write about. Usually its the photo I choose that somehow inspires a thought, emotion or idea that I just go with. Probably why this blog seems so unfocused day-to-day. Like today’s shot. I try to write a funny or interesting caption. And that leads me today to think about how fast my favorite season is flying by.
When I see the beach I feel like a kid again. I don’t know what it is. Mainly sheer enjoyment and contentment. I’ve actually thought about having some of my ashes scatter there when I’m no longer of this world. Of course I’m taking some more beach time this year. But this coming weekend signifies the end of the summer season for most.
Kids back to school. The busy retail season ahead. Businesses putting in lots of OT trying to beat budget by the end of the year while planning next years and beyond. Fall sports seasons with the kids going to what seems to be endless practices and games. (I miss those days). People going to college and working at the same time. The season of relaxation is over for them.
I enjoy taking a week late in the season. One thing it’s not as crowded. Your not elbow to elbow on the beach. You can ride a bike in Bethany or Ocean City and not become road pizza. The water is still warm. Just about everything is still open and no waiting. I can’t wait.
For those heading east in the mid Atlantic this weekend, have a good time, be safe on the highways, try not to let the crowds get to you.
Random Thoughts of the Day
I’m trying to turn a bad day into a good one. Its taken me all day to get to that point.
As long as you think and remember people, they are never fully gone.
I wish I had as many answers for life as there are questions.
I must have pizza tomorrow. Hey I have a goal.
Never take a hot shower for granted.
