Well the title of the Post is a little off. It was morning when I started this but then I had to add the afternoon and now evening. Another example of how fast the day gets away from me. I love mornings and evenings. I’m both an early riser and night owl. It’s a rarity that I don’t see a sunrise and sunset in the same day. Sometimes its reversed for me and the end of my day the sun is coming up and I’m going to work when it sets. Other days I’m up working before the dawn and crashing a bit after sunset.
A world of extremes I live in as far as hours I keep. I’m sure there are a lot of us out there doing the same thing. Such is life. You do what you can to survive and prosper. Its hell keeping a balance and staying healthy though.
I turn on news, and I see people yelling at each other this morning. I turn on sport stations and I see people yelling at each other this morning. I turned off the TV. I really don’t need to watch anymore of either. I know where I stand on politics. I know what teams I like. Just time to watch the games and elections. So I’m going to avoid the arguments and just stay quiet. But don’t think I’m not involved. I will vote and I will root for my teams.
YARD MAN has returned. I spent a lot of the day on the tractor. Tomorrow I have a massive trimming project to do. Good thing I got a new weed whacker. I did take a minute today before I started, to shoot a butterfly who had taken a liking to me as I was blowing off the deck. Seems to have some of the same colors as the sky in the photo above doesn’t it?
I didn’t have my glasses so I used AF and that screwed me. And I was in a hurry as usual and shooting automatic. Lazy photog in action.
As a best friend of mine would be prone to say about this time, “Lets turn it UP” Well it is early evening now and I’ve been in and out between cutting the estate (about an acre). I just thought of a project I’d like to take up. The idea comes up every time I cut the back yard. Well technically that isn’t correct. I have an upper back that extends out from the house 10-20 feet in the back before it drops off a cliff. I’m serious, I’ve fallen and I’ve seen others fall down this hill. It attempts to level off a bit but keeps dropping off. I’ll have to measure the total slope one day just for my knowledge.
I’m glad I have a small tractor, I can’t imagine trying to counterbalance something big. Anyway that is always my amusement ride each summer. Trouble is I don’t like rides and I certainly have skipped a few heartbeats some days cutting that or trying to trim the steep part with the string trimmer. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve fallen doing that as a youth. As an older man I’m more careful and not in a hurry so I just take my time with getting a good foothold.
Well, I couldn’t resist. I was going to wait till October to use a shot of a pumpkin but they are everywhere already and I took this shot over a week ago on the way back from the beach. I like Halloween but we don’t get many children. Even though we do have a new neighbor with a young one.
Whoops, let me run outside, I’ve got an hour of daylight left.
Random Thoughts of the Day
I’ll help a friend close up his pool tomorrow. Glad I don’t have that task anymore. One it was not that easy and two it was very depressing because it signaled the end of summer.
2 people dear to me aren’t feeling well, therefore I have this level of concern on each shoulder today.
