Life’s great pleasures

Had a wonderful morning with my Son today. I can’t tell him or his sister how proud I am of them often enough. I love being a father. Never knew it would be such a joy. But it really has been and continues to be. I have an appreciation for these days more than ever because my kids make them very special. Can’t wait to have a dinner with my daughter this week.

Another one of the pleasures of life is having a life partner. Someone that really knows you. All your good and all your faults. And I certainly have a few faults. And despite that, they stick with you for better or worse, in sickness and in health and richer or poorer. I really got lucky with the girl who said “I Do” to me.

And finally the last of life’s great pleasures on today’s list, a short work week. Yep vacation time is a special thing to be appreciated and well used. And I’m ready for that.

Random Thoughts of the Day

A job can be really good with good co-workers and bosses. Of course the inverse is true also.

I like the commercial where the Dad is acting like a dinosaur and carrying his two young children on his feet.

I’m trying not to let how I feel physically affect my attitude or my ability to carry on normally.

I’m disgusted by politics, but I will not let that deter my desire to vote.

I’m glad I don’t gamble for a living.

OK, will I resist the temptation to buy a Mega Millions and Powerball ticket?

Some days work is just plain frustrating. Other days I’m off.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
