A pot of gold is what I saw this morning as I walked from the bedroom down the hall. There it was on the living room floor. A huge silver bowl filled with gold. Yep it was loaded with Butterfinger bars for the trick or treaters. Perfectly mixed in between the layers of gold were a few small packs of Skittles.
I’m not a rich man but I hear some of the high-end places might serve a sorbet between courses of the meal to help clear the palate. That is what I call Skittles. You need a few of them between the bite size Butterfingers to appreciate each Butterfinger. Sorry, I got lost in sugar heaven there for a moment. And yes I did only eat 1 of them so far.
In one way I’m troubled how quickly we move on from crisis to crisis. Part of it seems because a new one takes its place every few days or even more often. On the other side I think it is a way of human survival to pick yourself up and move on with the best spirit you can muster even after the worst events. Some say its the way to keep changing things for the better. I don’t know what is the right or wrong way to observe these events anymore.
I don’t know any longer if not fighting hate preemptively and just reacting to it after the fact is fair to all the lives lost with that strategy.
Random Thoughts of the Day
I really don’t like the drive back and forth to DC. But then again, does anybody?
When you have someone or many people where your love grows stronger as time passes you are blessed.
I have seen a lot of people in charge over the years, who really think they have it together. I’ve always enjoyed a good comedy.
