Soon, I can Rest

First of all a Merry Xmas eve to all. I finished up shopping today but I have some wrapping to do when I get home tomorrow morning. Hopefully a quiet night ahead and a very quiet ride home on Tuesday morning. Then I can start to unwind a bit.

Working holidays used to be somewhat special. At least the company tried to make it that way. They used to give us turkey dinners with trimmings if we were working Thanksgiving or Christmas. Haven’t seen that in well over a decade now. Hell now it’s not even a thanks or have a nice holiday. Such is life.

I’m looking to dial down the stress level a few degrees the next few days. And I should be able to do this effectively being I’ve got a few days away from the job that pays the bills. So I can enjoy family and friends and my projects.

I haven’t been in the spirit much this year. It’s the latest I’ve ever had decorations up. I’m usually done with my shopping early, but certainly not this year which added stress.

But now I’m in a more positive grove and I hope to continue that.

Random Thoughts of the Day

Merry Christmas. Just realized tonight and tomorrow will be the first time in a few decades I haven’t made it to church. Hope I can be forgiven, I hear it’s the season.

A peaceful feeling all of a sudden this evening.

I heard Daffy Donald tweeted “I’m all alone (poor me)  in the White House – blah blah blah”.  I wonder if he still has Stormy’s number? Maybe she could work off some of the money she owes him.

Maybe we can all have a day of peace tomorrow.

  1. Merry Christmas, Mike!

    • And a Merry Christmas to you Kathy. Sorry about the late reply. I worked late into the morning on Christmas day and the family took the rest of the day till I passed out cold 5 minutes after they all left. Hope yours was a good one.
