I’m pumped. Game day is upon us. By the end of the day I will feel like I’ve played in a few of them. 3 weekends of fun in a row ahead. Drama at every game. Kids will and devotion to the task worn on their chest. Its great.
Looks like two wet days ahead. Which is good because I hate watching tv all day and night and wasting a good day outside also. So no guilt will be there for the next 2 and I can watch as many games as the mind and body will absorb.
You know, this is life. You got to let go and focus on something for yourself once in a while. Yeah I’ll spend a day soon doing something called taxes. And in the next 3 weeks I’ll have to get the outside chores going again. And I’ll go to work. And as a parent I’ll always be concerned about the health and safety of my children and worry about that and a host of other things.
But the time to catch a ton of basketball in the next few weeks is one selfish pleasure I take each year. It’s good for my mental health. It’s a ton of fun watching with my best friends. It’s a ritual enjoyed by our group. So off we go to prepare the day 1 provisions for the troops.
I only do 1 BRACKET. Matches the drama of the tourney. One and done.
I hope everyone can find their sweet spot in life. Its taken me a good while. I always wondered if I would find it. And over the last few decades its come about. And it’s not about money or things. It’s not about your job title. It’s not about your home or car. It’s about love, health and good people and sharing that time together.
OK soapbox completed. Go Terps – kick some ass.
