Big Block

Where would you go on a shopping spree? – An interesting question from the daily prompt.

I’m not much of a shopper and never had the money to go on a spree. And if we did, we went for the kids.

Let’s see, what do I like shopping for? Classic cars are nice, always wanted one. So, I guess car shows is where I could pick and choose what I want. The one below would be more than fine.

Getting a nice camera, not that I’m embarrassed about what I use, it’s just not top of the line stuff. Anyway, it’s not the camera picking the subject matter or choosing the time to press the shutter.

But if I did have money to blow, I’d probably use it to make sure my kids and grandkids are better off or get them something special. And get my better half something nice.

My kind of shopping

Where would you go on a shopping spree? – An interesting ask from the daily writing prompt.

I’m not much of a shopper so this might not be the normal response to this question. I shop for essentials most all the time. And when we do shop it’s conservative. We live within our means.

But when you say the word “SPREE” that kind of inspires me to think of something beyond our normal needs.

So my answer would be the Endless Summer Cruisin Car Show in Ocean City MD. And I’d shop for a few new hot rods. Now that would present another issue. Where would I store them?

Shop till you drop, the clutch

The Daily Writing prompt asks – Where would you go on a shopping spree?

I’d enjoy shopping for cars and motorcycles. Therefore my destinations for shopping would be a custom car show and a custom motorcycle show. Sometimes when I get the time to hit a local show or a regional like in Ocean City for the car or bike week, it’s like a kid in a candy store.

Never really owned a custom vehicle. Could have, but focused the resources on more important things like the family. No regret there but that hasn’t dampened the spirit to have one.

A while back I saw a group converting a Miata with an LS3 and all the needed body/frame modifications/powertrain/suspension needed. That and a custom paint job are still within reach before I probably have to hang up the keys but if that never happens that is fine also.

Boy would I have trouble resisting a for sale sign on a pro-charged 427 SS.
