If you didn’t need sleep, what would you do with all the extra time? – Now there is a question from the Daily Writing prompt that I don’t have to imagine the answer.
That “extra time” isn’t all that much. Maybe 3-5 hours depending on the day of the week and how I feel. I guess I would be doing more of the same things I love doing now.
But let me fantasize about that time if it were available.
I might sit on the beach with my better half and look at the moon reflecting on the water.
I would take more late-night drives. We have some wonderful roads and highways, when they aren’t jammed with traffic. But between 2-4 am it’s pretty nice out there on the roads. Especially that sweet spot of 3-3:30 am. The drunks are home and the early construction crews with hangovers haven’t hit the road yet. I used to get off work for a number of years at those hours and it’s fun to have the highways to yourself at times.
I would work on my night photography while out and about.
And certainly find all the good late-night food establishments because I might need another meal to take care of the extra energy needed.
I might open a drive-in movie theater. I mean if nobody is sleeping and its dark out, people might want a little nostalgia.
Then again, I might spend all my time running from my better half because I can’t imagine her without sleep. Just kidding honey. Wink Wink.
