My better half likes T Birds. The more recent ones though. But this is a classic and I love classics.
I was just doing some organizing and clearing some old clutter (photos) from the files and ran across this treasure. Not the best photo but the car. I just couldn’t bring myself to throw out a classic. I think it’s from the late to mid 50s if I were to guess.
I’m from the 50s myself so I guess I’m getting to be a classic. And like any classic I’m probably showing some signs of age. I’m not as fast as I used to be. I don’t start as easily. The shoes are a little worn. I’m so old I didn’t come with emergency flashers. See that little toy in the back window. We used to ride up there as kids.
I’ll be looking for some more classics to photograph soon. I can hear those car guys in there garages now getting ready to take the battery off the trickle charger and reconnect it for its periodic restart. Checking fluids and belts.
I can’t wait till they start to roll out on the first nice weather days of the spring. I was reading a article from Canon from photographer Larry Chen, on shooting cars and that has given me some new thoughts for the coming year.
And I can’t wait to attend my first show or catch some guys out on the street. Drive safe.
Random Thoughts of the Evening
- My mother always taught me to try to look for the best in people. There has to be a limit on how long you have to search for it with some people though.
- The NBA wouldn’t need an All Star weekend if they were playing competitive games throughout the season.
- Sometimes when I get down I forget to remind myself my family has its health.
- Speaking of the NBA. How many generations have to suffer through the Washington Wizards before someone develops a team worth watching?
- Vive la Résistance – I think I’ll end each post with those words.

Beautiful picture. Keep them coming!
.
P.S. I think they call those Bullet Birds, and they’re early ’60s rather than late ’50s

Thank you so much for the correction. I looked at the 57 and they had the round taillights and fin, but the bumper is much different now that I look closer. Good eye, thanks for keeping me in line.

I saw Elvis driving a red ’61 T-Bird in a movie last week. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known it.

Those 57s with the round taillights and porthole window are really classic.

Please post more classic car pics. It brings me joy.
