Good morning

Another chilly start this morning. How I look forward to the day where I can step on the back deck in only my gym shorts and feel the sun and warm breeze on my skin. Standing at the corner of my deck this is the view through the trees in the backyard in the mornings during summer.

There are some heavy rains followed by some strong winds forecast. I’m going to get a couple of posts finished today for early in the week in case we lose power. A common occurrence with winds in this area. It has improved but there are so many trees and lines that share the same space, it just happens.

Preparing posts for days in advance has been a seldom used practice in the past. Well, I’ll give it my best shot, because I want to keep my daily streak going. But first there is the now, present, this moment, right here. And right now, my better half isn’t sleeping well. That is not good. She excels at sleep. So, for her to be restless worries me.

Today I’m playing around with some close-up photography. There will be two subject matters. Shells and my family’s camera collection. Trying to learn more about light and angles. Practice makes something. I couldn’t say perfect because I’m too far from that goal.

A metal sculpture at a beach home we used to stay at. It was made of metal and about 5 feet across.

It’s another photo of mine I almost threw out, but having eaten some Maryland Blue crab yesterday I thought that would be disrespectful.

Random Thoughts of the Morning

  • I’m motivated and disheartened at the same time. Strange combo.
  • Criminals much be jumping for joy at the thought of reduced law enforcement numbers to keep them in check.
  • I love putting new prints on the walls of our home.
  • I wonder what happens when Shock and Awe hits MAGA at home?
  • Time to prepare the home and electronics for storms. But as MacArthur said, “I shall return.”
  • Replace silence with a voice. Vive la Résistance

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
