Describe one of your favorite moments. – A nice question from the daily writing prompt.

Thankfully I’m a lucky person and I have many to choose from. And I look forward to creating many more.

The birth of our first and second child. Each unique, but both so special. The moment I saw them laying on their mother and opening their eyes. The 3 days leading up to that first moment were exhausting, trying, stressful and terrifying. If I wasn’t so tired now, I’d go look up some more adjectives.

Only to be topped by our birth of the second child where I came close to losing my better half for a second time. Thankfully we are all here to remember those and many moments beyond but seeing and then holding them were my favorite moments.

Of course, nobody warned me of life being an interesting ride after that.

Describe one of your favorite moments. – The Daily Writing prompt asks us to recall.

I’ll just go with the first one that popped into my head. I was thinking of our family vacation because of the new beach towel my better half just got me.

We take the family to the shore each year and I was thinking of the feeling I have when we have finished a day at the beach and we are all out to dinner on the bayside, we’ve been served our drinks and everyone has decided and just ordered.

Just then, everyone is relaxed. The kids start talking and laughing. Grandchildren making faces at each other and laughing. I look across at my better half and see her smile as she watches and joins in. I sit back and smile and just listen to happiness and watch the sunset and savor those minutes before the food comes.

Each year I worked very hard to make things like that happen and those moments are the greatest gift I get in return. Well worth any sacrifice I had to make. And now I savor each one a little more.
