Life is like a horse race track. You have a starting gate with a starter’s pistol or bell, just like each day of the week its a schedule of races. It’s a long run and you have to pace yourself. If you didn’t prepare for it you don’t stand a chance and will finish lengths behind. If you weren’t awake enough you are late out of the gate and just have to work harder to make up for that initial lapse.
It’s a series of long races but requires intense concentration. It seems simple, just run around an oval. A couple of straights and 4 turns. Hell if NASCAR guys and horses can do it so can we. But just like those two sports, you need a lot of good people behind you. To prepare you and your ride. To work as a team to finish in the money.
So set your sights to the finish line each day. Aim HIGH, be satisfied with your best effort, but just get in the race.
I’m feeling like I’m on a roll today. I guess that could be due to the size of my midsection. That is starting to resemble a roll. But mentally I feel sharp and excited about the week. And then I looked at the 10 day forecast and saw 9 days of rain beginning on this Thursday. Well at least that means I won’t be washing the car the next day or two.
It also means I had better get my behind in gear and get out and do some shooting while the sun is around. I’m finally getting organized in that area also. I hope the results of that will filter in here very soon.
Random Thoughts of the Day
I wonder how much was raised this weekend for the Maryland Food Bank at Orioles Park? Was good to see so many contributing.
The lack of class some people can show, knows no bounds. As example the flag flying at full staff over the White House. His lack of an honorable statement. He is a petty petulant child who will never know the word respect. And then only later when he realizes everyone see’s how petty he is does he lower the flag and make a comment. The comment and actions should have been first instead of last.
Listen or read the last statement from John McCain. Like many I didn’t always agree with his policies. But I respect his knowledge and advice for our future because its rooted in successful past when its put in practice.
Ah, to put myself beyond that nonsense and try to do something positive with the rest of the day.
Now that I have the right posting cycle going, I just have to improve the content.
