Crime

All of us are conscious of crime. We take some degree of precautions. We are certainly treated to a healthy dose of it on the news. And that is not the news fault, there is just a hell of a lot of serious crime going on outside our doors. And it’s not going away, our society is built on haves and have not’s. And that disparity is getting greater.

We have lost the family units so young people are not brought in line when the minor things happen and then they just move onto serious crimes. We have lost the ability to instill in every individual that life is precious and not to be threatened or taken in an instant without a thought.

Brush off the small stuff.

We have a huge mental illness problem going on where people are wandering around our country who need serious help and have no way of getting it.

We have become careless with our guns and the responsibility that ownership entails. Just look at the number of children accidentally shooting themselves or a family member or friends each year.

We have failed to come to some common sense approach the country can agree on. You have the no guns position, to no gun laws at all position, and everything in between. It’s a hard question because so much is out of control now. The rabbit is already out of the hat in a sense that there are so many guns already out in circulation and ownership now. You’re not going to take away these guns. Well you can try but I’m not going up marching on front doors for that purpose.

I’m not sure but the traffic in illegal guns must be bustling also and that is a sure way to get guns in the hands of the wrong people.

Well what spurred this post was an armed carjacking just down the road from us. An intersection I pass every day a few times at least. One it tells me that I can’t and shouldn’t ignore it till it hits me or my family or my friends. Its got me thinking about ways to help. Its something I won’t brush off now.

Random Thoughts of the Day

You just have to love March.

The problem with a grandchild is you can’t be with them all the time.

I thought my sisters surgery was this week, it was last. I blew that one. Will have to take her something special.

You are a lucky person if you can count on your friends.

This is going to be a productive week. At least I hope so.

I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
