Name an attraction or town close to home that you still haven’t got around to visiting. Asks the Bloganuary question today.

Antietam National Battlefield in Antietam Maryland is my answer. This is just over an hour away from home so I consider that local. I spent that time commuting one way to the job for decades to it meets my definition of “close to home.” I’ve had this on my list for years now and this is the year, of course when it warms up, because its and outdoor activity.

I’ve been to Gettysburg a number of times, my daughter went to college near there. I also went in my youth and did the tours. I have a picture on the wall of my better half early on when we were just dating of her with a battlefield fence behind her on a day trip we took there.

So time to see a battlefield in my own state.
