Stopped and had some lunch at Clyde’s in Columbia yesterday. Always liked Clyde’s despite the menu changes they have remained consistent. I miss a few of the old favorites but some new ones are very good also. It was a beautiful day out but just a little chilly. We took a few minutes to take in the view.

As I stood there I though back to when this lake in front of us was being made. I remember the land being cleared by these huge Cat’s and trucks up and down 29, 32 and 108 for years to come.

It was quite remarkable to grow up and watch farms and a few small towns and even smaller neighborhoods grow into what Howard County has become today.

In a few weeks I’ll have some time to sort through some of the old photos my family and I snapped of the county before it became the juggernaut it has become. I’ll see what I can remember and share here.

I’m hoping the weather improves this week so I can get out and do some photography on Sunday. Then again I need foul weather pictures also so its never a bad day to photograph.
