Was thinking about some of the walks alone I took this past week at the beach. I don’t know about you, but those times bring a lot more clarity to my life. That time to think, focus, appreciate, plan and clarify. In that time I took to do this was far different from the crammed solitude time for thought that I normally have.
Maybe that walk to the car to drive to work? A few minutes alone in the morning as I get the days chores rolling. Basically proper time for that hasn’t been part of my schedule for quiet some time. But I’m thinking about my two of my best friends and the walks they take each day with their dogs. One actually goes down by a local river and woods with both his dogs and hikes in all seasons, in all-weather. A real trooper he is but I’m thinking he uses this time wisely also to clear and focus his mind.
I’ve got to incorporate something like this in my normal routine to help keep the balance. No my wife won’t go for a dog. But I will make that time somehow for a better review and plan of action for me moving forward on a more regular basis, while marking things I’m proud of and want to continue and expand upon and also recognize those less important and troubling items and move beyond them.
Maybe America is looking at itself for real for the first time in a long time. And its pretty ugly in some ways. A society that isn’t at peace with itself isn’t any better than what we see overseas in the middle east and other areas of great conflict in the world. And if we don’t find and start working towards solutions we will most likely break into warring factions and be fighting in the streets and destroying our country from within.
To the thief who stole my friends wallet yesterday while we were having breakfast. The police know what you look like on video. I know what you look like because I looked at you. One has rules and guidelines if they find you, one doesn’t.
A warm summer day in the beginning of fall. That is a win in my book.
Everything begins with a healthy mind and body.
A dinner and night at the ballpark with my Son’s. LIFE IS GREAT.
I think I’ll go make my better half breakfast in bed.
