I got the pleasure of my grandson’s time on Tuesday. He so reminds me of the love of life. The joy of discovery, the look of abandon, the focus of a laser, and the determination of a thousand men. At the same time, simple love and compassion are every glance, smile, laugh, or hug and kiss. The limitless creativity of a mind that has no guardrails yet.
When I lay on the floor, he comes over, snuggles right against me, and pretends to sleep for a few seconds before making sure I’m still awake and ready to play again. The discovery of his senses when trying a new food or treat. His eyes get huge when he likes something a lot. I don’t think I’ve lost that reaction after all these years.
I used to think it was me who would rub off and influence my grandchildren. What a great surprise it is that it’s them, who influence and inspire me.
Hump Day Results
I had a somewhat productive Wednesday and at the same time a restful one. I was able to knock out a few chores before the rains came. But I was lazy in my blogging having not finished this piece. Looks like a turnaround day today for productivity.
Lawn Services
You know what I’m sick of. These landscape/mowing companies coming at 7 am with their huge power mowers cutting neighbor’s lawns. Not that they have someone maintaining it, just at the hour these companies come to do it that pisses me off.
And I can’t figure out why the homeowners accept it. The grass is still wet and left in clumps around the yard. I’ve seen them cut in the middle of rain storms. That certainly isn’t good for the grass. They also cut very short which promotes weed growth which the yards are loaded with. Well, the ones without the spray services I see at some.
Such is life, just another thing to roll with.
