City

How would you design the city of the future? – The Daily Writing prompt expects architectural advice this morning.

Not enough time to do a good job with that question. Or is it the lack of interest in the question? Pick either one. I would put a building height restriction like they have in DC.

I will say I used to shy away from big cities. But I’ve found some interest in them in recent years. A recent trip to NYC has me wanting to return to see some more of it. But I’ll stick with the country living.

Glenn Frey says “You belong to the City” but I disagree. Foghat says I might be a “Fool for the City” and who knows, maybe I am. The Scorpions are into “Big City Nights” and who can argue with that? I think David Bowie had my commute in and out of Washington DC in mind when he coined “Suffragette City.” When I head to the ocean I put in a little Guns and Roses “Paradise City” as I roll into town. The Eagles want you “In the City” but I’ll just say, it’s a nice place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there.

No offense to those that do. I’m just used to space. Have a good morning all.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
