Material Crap

Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car). – Thought-provoking question from the daily writing prompt.

I had to think hard about this one. I’m not much for material items. The first thing I came up with was my Nikon body and lens and I spent about $1700.00 on the pair over a decade ago.

About 26 years ago we spent $2000 on a John Deere mower. And yes I still use it today. I’m the only one who uses it so I guess it’s a personal item.

I’m not sure about this one. It could be classified as a car because it was transportation for many years. A 1985 Honda Shadow 1100 cc motorcycle was about 4K back then.

I’ve had a couple of surgeries that were costly and they gave me life so not a bad deal. Not like I had a choice on those.

Man, I should go splurge on something before it’s too late. Then again it’s not necessary for happiness.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
