Life before

Do you remember life before the internet? – Good question for us old farts.

Yes, I do, and it was wonderful. It was far more friendly. We would play outside all day till dark. We were always doing some physical activities. Riding bikes, playing sports or games and building forts. My skateboard was a flat piece of wood with steel wheels.

I remember working many years without the internet. I remember having a BBS (Bulletin Board System) before we had the internet. We thought that was the greatest thing. It certainly lit the bulb of things to come.

I remember having maps in a glove box in the car. Remembering hundreds of phone numbers and knowing people’s addresses.

Having to figure out things on our own by trial and error because instructions didn’t come with troubleshooting or vendor support.

The thing I liked the most was there was more person to person contact and communication.

The internet provides many wonderful things. And some are not so wonderful.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
