We decided to try a new to us restaurant in Columbia called Grillmarx and had a good time.
Parking is easy and we were seated promptly. The bar was very active, and I guess Happy Hour from 3-6 had drawn the crowd. We had an early reservation at 5 and the seating area filled as we dined.
The booths were comfortable, but you had to sit forward because the table was kind of thin. Wasn’t a big problem, just didn’t feel right though.
The specials were plentiful, but we stuck to the main menu. Starting with the Oysters Annapolis appetizer. They were excellent. A nice combination of crab and oyster grilled to perfection. This was a change from the Oysters Rockefeller we usually order which they also had. I liked these but my better half said she would prefer Rockefeller. These were a little richer, which I think was the difference for both of us. Me preferring it and her liking more for the spinach and bacon.
We both got a side salad to start and they were both good. She the mixed and me the Caesar. My entree was very good. A 8 oz fillet and blackened shrimp, with a side of mac n cheese. My better half got the boneless ribeye and red bliss mashed potatoes.
For dessert she had the Pumpkin Cheesecake, and I had the Key Lime Tart. We loved both the desserts.
The menu has several items I’d like to try for both lunch and dinner. And there is a very good selection of specials.
I thought one thing was odd, we thought it strange to charge for bread at a steakhouse.
If you’re a drinker, you will be pleased with the selections and specialty drinks, they have I believe.
Sorry for the fuzzy photos. Forgot my phone and didn’t want to take my big Nikon in so I grabbed the very old Kodak digital.
