I answered the question – What positive emotion do you feel most often? – in this post last year called Feeling it.
The trick sometimes in life is to get to those positive emotions. The normal difficulties, tight schedules, stresses of job and families, health or financial issues and more make it tough to get to those positive moments.
I spent time stuck in negative spaces too long in the past. For instance, I brought work issues home. Being retired fixed that one. Now I try to recognize those things and move on and work on solutions if possible.
Each day I try to start off in positive ways to try to set the tone. It doesn’t always stay that way but why not start the day right.
I get to work on things that help turn difficult times around. Maybe one of my hobbies or some music. Flipping on some comedy or watching a video or looking at pictures of my children and grandchildren.
Maybe taking a short ride with the top down or treating myself to ice cream.
Be open to finding those positive moments and emotions throughout the day. Life is short, enjoy it.
