First

What could you try for the first time?

I looked at last year’s answer to the same question called Try It. And I haven’t done one on that list yet. That is because I didn’t associate an action with it.

Maybe I should simplify. Or get my ass in gear, one or the other.

Anyway, here is new list.

I’m going to my first protest this weekend.

I’m going to sit outside in the middle of winter around my new firepit for the first time. Why, I do not know.

I’m going to work on an abstract carving for the first time.

I’m going to create my first photo book. And keep making them.

Tomorrow I’m going to try my hand at concrete caulking for the first time.

I’m going to try a self-portrait.

I’ve never rode one of these. Maybe there is another first? Photo by Mike Hartley

Try it

What could you try for the first time? – Wow the daily prompt has piqued my interest this morning.

Interesting how many things popped to mind so quickly. Guess I better get going on some of these.

I’d like to play the drums. I’d like to drive a JetSki. Learn a new language. Write a book.

Stay at a classic luxury hotel. Dine at an award-winning restaurant. See a Broadway show.

I rode a bike for decades but never have gotten on one of the crotch rockets that handle so well and make the asphalt melt so that would be a first.

I’ve done a fairly fast quarter mile. I’d really like to see what an 8 or 9-second run would feel like.

Well, my body is clean so a tattoo would be a first. Remember the question says “What”. I love art but it’s just a personal choice to keep my body the way it was given to me.

Ziplining has always caught my eye as an interest. Just not at places that do it so far.

See some of the great sights in this country. Grand Canyon, 9/11 Memorial, Yellowstone, Zion, Key West, and many more.

Maybe we all should try a first like bringing peace to the world.

I’d like to see if I can scream as loud as Steven Tyler the KING OF SCREAM. Sorry, I was listening to some Aerosmith as I was typing this.

A go fast. Photo by Mike Hartley
