Best is for others

What is the best purchase you have ever made? – Feeling like I answered this daily prompt question before but I’m too lazy at 3am to go look if I have so here is a fresh attempt.

That’s an easy one. Any gift we get for the children or grandchildren that brings the best smile and excitement to their faces. Like the annual trip to the beach together. Sometimes our excitement is the best when we think we’ve found the perfect birthday or Christmas gifts.

High on the list of rest of the Best

Our Home.

The John Deere tractor I purchased in 1998 is still running and cutting today. Certainly, the best value. Well, it’s getting a deserved rest and some maintenance before it goes to my son. I just got a new one. I’ll let you know if that was just as good a buy as the previous one in about 20+ years. He might have to finish that review, if I’m cutting grass well into my 80s my wife is going to kill me.

A 1985 Honda Shadow 1100cc motorcycle. My first new bike. My first new vehicle ever. Everything before that was well used transportation. Man was ride that fun. I had to pause and remember twisting the throttle and hanging on for a minute there. Oh yeah. There is no replacement for displacement

This was almost #1 but the best purchases are never for yourself. At least that is what I’m learning over time.

The 2016 Mazda Miata has been the most fun I’ve ever had on 4 wheels. Runner up is my 1974 Camaro.

One of my biggest regrets in my photo history is I lost photos of this car after I modified it. Photo by Mike Hartley
