This one is just starting to bloom next door. Our neighbor has a wonderful garden But I noticed this guy growing and growing. Finally the bloom has come. I’m sure those remaining yellow petals will be extended by tomorrow. Gives me something to check on in the afternoon. Of course if I’m feeling better I’ll venture out to the county and grab some images.

Welcome Butterfly – I didn’t get a chance to shoot more than 5 minutes so far today. But I’m glad I grabbed my camera before going out to check the mail. For I got the shot above of the sunflower and when I returned to the front door this guy was there to meet me. I guess he took my mat literally. Yeah he’s a little one and that is why I included a second shot where he spread his wings.

Not often in the month of August in this region of the country can you stand and cheer the weather we have had. Much lower humidity and temps that have been moderate most days. Even warm days there seems to be a breeze along to make it great. I’ve always thought this was one of the better places to live in this country. You get all 4 seasons. You don’t have the severe storms that come down south or the extreme winters of the north. No huge wildfires or drought. No (well except for a few small ones) earthquakes. Very few floods and tornado’s are fairly rare also. Your within a short drive of either the ocean or mountains. And you can swim in this ocean unlike most of California where it’s too cold. No wonder they call it “The land of Pleasant Living.”

I don’t know how many of you suffer with back issues but today is my day to complain. For my back is killing me this morning and I tried to make it a bit without pain relief but finally relented. I hate taking those things because it changes my mental focus.

Random Thoughts for Tuesday August 25th 2015

  • The sound of water falling through the leaves of the trees after it rained hard sounds like a unique waterfall.
  • As I get older, I find I have to remind myself to be patient.
  • I’m thankful my family liked to take pictures. Well, I was after I sorted them out. No wonder Kodak was so profitable for so long.
  • Pain can give you new perspectives.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
