Whoops, meant to say wind down. For I abstain from the grape. Oh I’ve tasted it and some of it is very good and intoxicating. Some of my best friends love the stuff but that isn’t me. Finished up the shopping Friday, that means just some wrapping today and hopefully a good nights rest. Actually got to run out and get some scratch offs for stocking stuffer’s.
Sorry about the absence the last two days. Life and obligations intervened as they sometimes will do. But the tree is decorated and lit, my gift wrapping has begun. We are in the home stretch of preparations and the beginning of some vacation and time to shoot/post this coming week.
One thing has bothered me this week. I’m actually breaking a tradition of getting down to pay my respects to my parents for the holidays before Christmas. I hope they can forgive me for being a day or two late making the trip this year. I think they can, because they always thought of others first. They were fine examples caring and sharing. I’ve got to strive to be more like that.
So in that vein, I’m going to try to spend part of this day making a few donations. I just started with the American Cancer Society. I’ve been meaning to find that letter from UMMC also because I want to contribute to that hospital. Got a couple other thoughts also. So I’ll end the year on the right course. Now I want to see if I can do something every month and not just at the end of the year.
OK, the batteries are charged and I’m ready to shoot again. Sorry about the drought of fresh images. I think I’ll give shooting some Xmas decorations around the county a try the next few nights. I’m bound to curse doing that at least once or twice with that old tripod I have. Was going to get a new one a short time ago but saw something that I needed to save a little more for.
So enjoy the afternoon. I hope to be back and busy here to finish up the year and begin the new one strong. Wishing everyone much health and happiness.
By the way, I’ve gotten a very good gift already. It’s from a dear friend, who is far away. And even though the distance is still there, he has started his way back.
