Weather – The real stuff is coming. And then again, maybe not. Weather does as it pleases when it pleases. All I can do is hope that its enough to work from home for a few days. You see my mode of transportation isn’t well suited for snow and therefore I intend to exercise my brain cells and not take it out in the snow. I used to make every effort possible, buy the vehicle suited for winter travel (front and 4 wheel drive) but no longer.

Many of my coworkers and I would make monumental efforts to get in during any weather. Blizzards, hurricanes, floods, whatever it was. Sometimes staying at the plants overnight. No more, first when looking at it the danger involved in going the distances we did in that weather was crazy. There are endless stories of people in their cars for 4, 6, 8 and 12 hours to make it or get home from work in storms.
Personally my record was a 6 hour trip one way. But I’ve had many close to that and many of multiple hour rides. I have heard nothing in preparation for the storm from the job that pays the bills, so such is life.
Its gotten worse with people taking vehicles out that shouldn’t be out. Then there are the ones with the proper vehicle, but can’t drive in bad conditions. Then when it gets really bad we still have people out and about who really don’t have a good reason to be out and about. If I do make it out and about it will be by foot if it gets bad. Taking snow pictures isn’t a good justification to be out joy riding in a foot of snow.

Football – Well, I’m turning in my Redskin’s fan card. Finally get a capable quarterback and then treat him to the point where he walks in and ask for a trade despite being paid a fortune. Lose a few 1000 yard receivers and now fire the GM with no comment. Good luck Danny boy.
Life and Death – Another funeral, 2nd one in as many weeks. An older friend told me that when you hit 60 it can get to be a common thing. Well I’m not 60 yet, but close so I guess I’m getting a preseason workout.
Baseball – Brush that dirt, comb that grass, polish those seats, fire up the grill at Boogs. Ah the start of another baseball season. That anticipation, that joy of the ballpark on a warm summer day. Hell yeah.
I think you missed a spot guys.
Time and this Blog – I’ve discovered you don’t run out of time. It just passes you by at points. I just didn’t get to it means I didn’t prioritize correctly. I will try better means I hope to do something more than nothing. I would just say “get R done” but even Larry seems to have taken a break from time to time. And so there is balance.
What I do hope is that funk, lack of creative drive, inability to pick up the camera and ability to sit down and write some good thoughts, has past and I’m back in the daily cycle again. Only time will tell but I’m optimistic.
