New day, new opportunities

Nothing like a weekend Saturday and sunshine. Spent the day outside catching a few rays. Well they were catching me while I was battling mother nature. I got a nice jump on her today but its a long fight. I’m glad to be back in the game though. I hope to use it to help me get in shape for the beach. I might sound insane but I missed weeding, raking and other yard/home maintenance. Nice feeling strong again. Well sore would be a better word right now but that will pass and strength will return.

So I didn’t get to the car today. I’ll be washing that at sunrise on Sunday. Because its supposed to be 70, sunny and I can’t miss the opportunity. A Sunday drive is the best. Low to no traffic depending how early you’re out and about. Throw in a manual shift rear wheel drive car and life is good. Yeah I no longer have the V8 with the Hurst 4 speed shifter with the nice T handle grip. But I’ll take the 6 spd low riding, corner gripping, fun machine now. Plus I’m too old to be going that fast again. At least on a regular basis. And its a sin to own a car with a lot of horsepower and not use it.

Its going to be one of those top down days on the ragtop. As my best friends say “Can I get a HELL YEAH.” And of course the answer to that is a chorus of them.

Up before dawn. Kind of weird when I think about it. I know there is a fair segment of the population that is up before dawn each day. For some its the end of their night. For others they start early by need, schedule, workouts or by desire to beat traffic. Of course if you have a pet you may find yourself outside walking it before dawn.

But I’ve noticed this strain of people who regard dawn as this evil fire rising in the sky. A time frame that deep sleep rems are just starting and to interrupt that process is like waking a grisly bear in December.

Not me, I love a sunrise. Hell I enjoy a cloudy day brought to light, even though it’s a dimmed one. But we have a good run of Sunny ones ahead so if you haven’t tried them in a while, check it out. It’s a great start to the day.
