Benched

I put myself on the bench today. Not enough rest and relaxation. Tired of starting off the work week tired, so some Sunday rest on a rainy day is in order for this kid. A bit of football and some treadmill. A relaxing lunch, maybe a nap. Gone are the days of my on-call work. Where you feel like you can never rest or not be within inches of a host of communication devices.

Take a seat till summer returns.

I don’t miss on-call work. It’s pretty intrusive on normal life and most companies don’t compensate it properly. As they say, it comes with the territory. Not that I’d never go back to it if I had to, but it would have to be with some better rules than my past experiences. But that is for another day that I hope really never comes.

Sometimes rest for me though is sitting at the computer, sorting and tinkering with images, jotting down a few random ideas and just trying to stay in touch with family and friends. And so it is today. I’d rather be leaving tracks to the beach but I’ll wait for more hospitable conditions for that activity.

Take me to the sand.

Random Thoughts

I don’t know if the roads are getting worse or my butt is getting thinner.

So you can complain or think about a solution.

Sunday dinners are the greatest.

Miss my parents today. So I made a donation to Wreaths Across America for one for their grave this coming month.

Thank goodness College Basketball is about to start.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
