What about after

I using a writing challenge for the month of January to get me going again and posting each day, so far so good. But what happens when those thought teasers stop coming? What about February 1st? Panic setting in. Well, maybe some future planning will advert the days the creative juices aren’t working and save the day.

Running any kind of daily operation takes planning. I should know, I work for one in the job that pays the bills. There is a hell of a lot of advanced planning and preparation. So I have my work cut out for me but I plan on continuing this throughout my life because it’s one of those things that is going to keep me young and active. Sort of like my father-in-law did with running. But instead of my shoes, I’ll run off at the keyboard.

So my mindset at home is like it is at work now. Got to keep the presses running every day, without fail. And I better get busy building that infrastructure needed to carry it out. Might be time to replace this aging laptop or make it my mobile device and get a desktop that will help the eyez look at a larger screen. I also have an old digital camera that needs to be replaced as my backup to the Nikon.

And then there is that excitement and drive and fun and satisfaction of doing it every day without the challenge becoming a burden or task. A fine line to walk indeed. And I know because working for a daily newspaper is a challenge over a long period of time. I love the work but it can burn you up if you’re not careful.

But I don’t look at writing or photography as work. So I’m going to build my skills in writing and images so I can say more with less. I’m going to show myself an old dog can be taught new tricks. I hope to make new friends along the way and include old ones if they like.

I want to show the beauty I see in the beautiful state I live in and the people that do wonderous things. I want to hit on topics and thoughts that either advance something or just help myself understand it. Maybe it will help me give back to the community in some way. Who knows, its full of possibilities if I can follow through.

So the work begins as I end this post on what my February schedule should include. I’ll catch you all later with the writing prompt of the day post.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
