A week till Christmas Eve and I’m hoping to be ready and able to relax and enjoy Christmas Day. I love time with the family and that day is so special. I’m not sure if I’m working that night or not yet but it doesn’t matter because I’ll be at peace if everyone is happy and healthy. And with the young ones, they will be crashing before I have to sign on for my last working holiday.
But first, a nasty storm moving up the coast to entertain us this evening and tomorrow morning. 2-3 inches of rain, maybe more, in a fairly short timeframe along with high winds. Might be a test for those new catch ponds protecting Old Ellicott City.
Yesterday was National Wreaths Across America Laying Day. This shot below is from Arlington National Cemetery from a few years ago. I need to get over and visit my parent there before the end of the year. That is one donation I have made for years running but I’m a little late with that this year. But as they say better late than never.
Random Thoughts of the Day
- Having a family funeral within a week of Christmas will remind us all how special each one is and how thankful we should be for having another one together.
- If you want a mentor with a lifetime of experience, visit a senior center.
- Sometimes you may feel like you’re the only one going through a problem when in reality there may be millions with the same issues.
- I feel like my schedule is so packed and difficult. And then I see the schedule of my better half and I feel a little better.
