I think Bling happened decades before the phrase was coined. I’ve never adapted to bling. I don’t wear rings or watches or chains or piercings. Then again, if I ever purchase one or customize my ride, that might qualify as some bling.
I guess I was just in car mode yesterday. It must have been the photo I shot of this Camaro below. After spraying the Miata off and going for a ride with the top down, there were so many nice cars and motorcycles out that there were too many to describe.

Maybe it will clear up later today for another short ride but that drizzle this morning isn’t inviting so far. And next week has a chill coming so I guess I’ll have to wait a bit longer before converting from sweatsuits to shorts.
The local car shows are kicking off again this month so more opportunities to see impressive works of art and speed coming together. I’m going to miss the local one at Mikey and Mel’s in Maple Lawn next week but I’ll be at the rest of them this year. And I hope to hit both the spring and fall meet at Ocean City.
Unfortunately owning motor vehicles means interfacing with the DMV. And today I have to return tags from an old Chevy. I have to admit, DMV has improved over the years. And the places that offer DMV services for a fee I’m sure have taken some pressure off the state.
I’ve had several poor experiences with DMV myself. Things like their computer error made my perfectly legal tags illegal, causing me to get stopped and denied being able to take my car home. Even though all I did was wait for the officer to leave. But then I had to go to DMV to prove to them I had valid tags even though the lady at the counter insisted they had been turned in. I had to walk her to the friggin car because she didn’t believe the registration I had in my hand and that the tags were on my car and valid. Almost got arrested that day.
Hopefully, today’s transaction will be no fuss, no muss. Or is today’s term “no yada yada?”
Random Thoughts of the Day
- A productive morning already, anytime you make plans with your better half it’s a good start.
- Time to kick it up a notch and challenge me, myself, and I more.
- I wonder if I get more of my motivation from negative or positive experiences.
- I’ve got to fit in a long walk today.
- Taking the cameras with you is important. Taking them out of the bag is more important.
- I have an equal number of tripods as cameras – 4.

Winter in Toronto has been called off this yeat. Plenty of summer cars out, but not as much as what you’re seeing in your home town.
.
Reading about your Miata makes me think how much better that vehicle is than a 69 Camaro or 56 Chevy. Your car can be driven, enjoyed, taken through the automatic car wash at the Shell station. But high dollar cars like in your oictures just cant be enjoyed. Too rare, too fragile, too expensive to fix.
.
Rnjoy that Miata. But a new set of ‘bling’ wheels might really enhance your street cred at the next car show.

Yes I agree, those rare cars won’t give as much overall joy as the Miata. Plus you have to have a garage for those. A lot of guys trailer them to events because driving big distances in those high displacement machines is costly.
