My memory is getting bad but I don’t think I’ve grilled out this year. Somewhat embarrassing to admit that fact. Anyway, the streak came to an end and the season of charcoal and wood fire began on Sunday.
Burgers from the grill are the best. I built this one with a parmesan crisp on the bottom bun and some fried onions on that. The burger with double American melted cheese, topped with bacon and avocado. Just a little BBQ sauce on the top bun and consumption commenced.
I’m thinking about adding a smoker to mix now that I have time for some duration cooking.
We did have two wonderful meals out last week. The first, with our daughter at Ernesto’s in Enchanted Forest shopping center. My better half got Shrimp Frahetas and my daughter and I got Enchiladas de Camaron which is a Homemade flour tortillas filled with grilled shrimp & Monterrey Jack cheese. Topped with a creamy wine sauce & served with rice, charro beans, veggies & avocado salad.
It was all very good as has always been the case for us.
We are blessed with several very good Mexican restaurants in the area Pachanga Cocina Mexicana Restaurant is just up the road from there and also very good.
You can’t go wrong at Mia Casa or La Palapa Grill & Cantina in Ellicott City.
And of course one of our favorites in Clarksville, El Azteca.
This reminds me, that I need to eat more Mexican.
Okay, the other meal was with some very old friends and the conversation was so wonderful that I didn’t feel like interrupting the flow by taking a few pictures. We were very pleased again with Matthews 1600 in Catonsville.
I had the Cheesesteak Eggrolls and for the main course the Eastern Shore Rockfish – Fresh rockfish, sauteed, topped with Jumbo Lump crab meat, over a cold sweet corn salad, finished with Old Bay butter. Our company had the Rockfish also and my better half had the NY Strip steak. Everything was perfect from the service to the food and company. Great time, we will return.
No more food reviews without pictures. A new resolution for the year.
