Taking a nap before I retired always felt like I wasted time. Even though it may have been needed and earned I would always wake mad that I had slept in the middle of the day. If it was for only 15-30 minutes I would wake uncomfortably.
Well after several naps in the middle of the day this year, I’m Nap Enabled. I feel better when I wake up and am no longer upset, mad, or pissed at myself that I slept. I’m proud of myself for resting when I feel like I need it.
At best I used to look at it as a treat. Something that I finally said to myself, relax, kick back, refresh yourself. But regardless of how I went into the nap, I would wake up rushed and feel I had lost something important when I woke. At a minimum feeling I had slept too long.
Looks like I found another plus of being retired. I’m learning to relax.
Random Thoughts of the Day
- Looks like the yard will need its first cutting this coming weekend.
- I managed to change the calendar on the first day of the month. Sometimes I slack on that task.
- Opportunities are there for the taking. Will I grab them?
- If I could figure out what language my back is speaking in, maybe we could negotiate a pain comprise.
- Sometimes it’s the things that aren’t said that are hurtful.
