How

How can it all be empty at the start of the weekend? Just kidding, I’m not much of a drinker anymore and thought that was just a nice display of decanters.

Now there was a time when if you sat that many full bottles in front of me you would certainly get many back empty. I don’t miss that. I was a punishing drinker with a fairly strong tolerance in my youth. I put the two women I love the most, my better half and my mother through a lot of pain for a few years.

I’ve spent a long time making up for those days.

Onto something more current. The more we explore the state the more I want to do. Our next trip is going to be to Antietam National Battlefield this month. It’s been on my list for a while. A day trip, nothing epic.

The Park entrance pass is $20 per car. I see they have 6 free days throughout the year. It looks like a great place to walk on a nice spring day. And we both like getting steps in.

I do love history and have been to Gettysburg a few times. That is also on our list to return to in the future. So this should be a great outing.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I was coloring with my 5-year-old granddaughter today. She is getting so much better at staying in the lines of drawings. I’ll have to remind her next time that it’s ok to do things outside the lines or with a blank sheet and just her imagination again. Like she used to do when we started.
  • Sometimes getting comfortable with the art I produce and willingness to share is the most difficult part of the process.
  • OK, it’s April, cool, windy, and wet to start the month so far. I’m hoping it gets its act together by next week and warms up
  • It doesn’t seem right, but I’m very nervous and very peaceful at the same time.
  • I had better go pull the cover off the car and get busy detailing it. There is a Maryland Miata meet-up next week.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
