Finish/Start

It was a pretty good week last week. A strong start and finish and a few days in between of relaxing also. I grilled some dinner last night, cleaned up, hit the recliner, and was out cold for the evening.

So I’m up early today working out and ready to start a new week. If you believe the weather people today is a prime day to spend outside so that is where I’ll be.

It’s also the day of the monthly meeting of the Maryland Miata group and I haven’t been to one in some time so I might attend that later. Which means I should wash the ride. So out I go to shine and gas her up.

Much respect for all mothers.

I went to Arlington National Cemetery and had a nice conversation updating my parents on their grandchildren and great-grandchildren yesterday. It had been a while so it was kind of tough. I hate having to start by apologizing for the time between my last visit and this one.

Maybe I’ll get back to my 2-3 times a year average to pay respects so I can skip the lame excuse. With the GW Parkway torn up and one lane each way I should find another way in. On an early Sunday morning, the sun was breaking through some pesky clouds. The sounds of planes climbing after liftoff from National Airport.

Birds and squirrels dart between the headstones. There are no burials on Sunday unless something has changed. The sightseeing tram hadn’t started its first run so I had total privacy this morning. It’s a beautiful place and I see why so many come far and wide to visit. I just like the peacefulness of a Sunday morning there.

I took them some Rodedemdrum blooms, mom loved them.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • I bet a lot of working stiffs wish they had today off. I’ll make good use of it for you all.
  • The song (Simple Man) always makes me slow down and listen for a bit, and have appreciation.
  • Thinking back I didn’t spend enough time thinking about what was important. And if I did, I didn’t spend enough time doing something about it.
  • People keep slipping further and further apart. I wonder who sold all that wrong-direction lube?

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
