The Day Ahead

I must be feeling better because I’m looking forward to the day ahead again. Not that I don’t every day but the last several have lacked the normal enthusiasm I normally have due to illness. It’s hard to hear the birds singing in the morning like today when you’re blowing your nose or coughing up crap and in pain.

I’m not 100% but better than the last several days so it’s time to start flying high again.

On the passing of Bill Walton

I was reading through some tributes to Bill Walton and came across ones from people I respect, and admire and who knew Bill. I enjoyed watching him play. I enjoyed his commentary and sometimes thought he would get off track during a game but it was always fun listening because you knew you were getting a special perspective and sometimes not just on basketball, but life.

From Kareem Abdul Jabar.  “On the court, Bill was a fierce player, but off the court, he wasn’t happy unless he did everything he could to make everyone around him happy. He was the best of us.”

From Steve Kerr coach of the GSW’s. “His incredible energy, passion, love, and zest for life was never turned off.”

From Jay Bilas basketball commentator and former player – “Walton was about enjoying every minute of his existence, and making your existence around him meaningful and unforgettable. He was a free spirit, with endearing eccentricity. But deep down, he was about finding joy in others. Man, was Bill Walton fun.”

What a beautiful things to say about a friend. I will say thanks for the great effort in your game. Thanks for the entertaining commentary. I think I’ll put on some Grateful Dead this morning.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • It’s time to put on the shoes and head outside now that the sun is up to check for storm damage.
  • Life would be better with a Navigation system to prepare you for the twists and turns it takes.
  • A day of hard work ahead. Hope the body holds up to it.
  • It’s my sincere hope and desire that Donald Trump never steps foot in Arlington Cemetery again. He’s a piece of crap who knows nothing of sacrifice. And he said it himself to General Kelly whose son is buried there.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
