What would you change about modern society? – The Daily writing prompt asks.

Attitudes. I hear lots of complaining but few are willing to step up and do anything about it. Or the complaints are so trivial that it just indicates a spoiled society. The negative voices that existed in relative silence have been given a megaphone with social media. The bitchiness has been magnified while the good that goes on gets less attention.

Dependence on technology. This one is going to bite us in the ass one day. A minor example of it this week happened.

We have gotten STUPID and dumbed everything down. My example, I heard the other day. Car manuals in the 60s contained how to adjust your valves on the engine. Today they say don’t drink the windshield washer or battery fluids.

Manners, Respect, and Compassion – Someone forgot to teach many children this over the years. Even many adults seem to be forgetting these keys to a great society.

We have gotten entirely too greedy – Money and status symbols seem to be the only things a lot of people are interested in.

Trust seems to have gone out the window. And that is because there is a small segment of society that will take that away and we don’t do anything about those people.

Everything is disposable and that is a problem. We have forgotten how to take care of our planet.
