Tell us about the last thing you got excited about. – The Daily Writing prompt asks a fun question for this Friday morning.
Well, the last thing I was excited about was the progress Thursday evening on a wood carving for my granddaughter. Only several more hours and then a final sand and stain. I won’t have it finished in time for her visit later this morning but I’ll have it done before she starts school. I’m starting to get my footing working in 3 dimensions.
Oh, in the middle of that work, my better half tapped my shoulder and said someone was calling for Papa and sure enough my grandson was Facetiming us. You know it’s funny that just about anyone else I would have panicked thinking about being covered in sawdust, but I didn’t even give it a thought till now that I was just so overjoyed to see him, my son and his better half all enjoying the evening together and they took a few minutes to check in with us.
I should move the woodworking outside when it’s nice. That will save some cleanup time. Plus the natural light is nice.
Other things I’m excited about recently.
My tire isn’t losing air pressure. The weather forecast for today. The progress I made working in the yard this week. That my better half is feeling a little better. I’ll get to hug my daughter this morning. A trip to the local snowball stand is in the cards. Good music is filling the airwaves.
