I stopped by Ellicott City yesterday for a walk and a few photos. It was hard to park the car on such a nice day. You can’t beat a convertible on a sunny day in the low 80s.

Hopefully, this is the first day of many where I try to capture what is special about this area.

I found this storefront window above Gloss Hair Studio from across the street interesting.

I should have reached the door and said hello to this longtime merchant. It has to be a few decades there. Kind of got me thinking about one for my office when we redo the basement in the future.

I didn’t remember shooting this wall art below from this angle so I went up a small incline and pointed through a fence.

Now I know why I like this art. It’s the red convertible. Photo by Mike Hartley

I can always find something in bloom in this old town.

This is an easy place to shoot. Finding beauty here is fairly easy.

This probably doesn’t need any more promotion because it’s always packed. But it might be something I go downtown for again. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the last one. The Main Street Music Festival is coming on Sept 21.

I still feel at home in this town over 5 decades after I first started working here. Well, it’s time to put a bow on this post and think about where in the county I’m going shooting today.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
