I still get excited about Fridays. Must be all those years of work and getting to Friday was the reward. As is normal now I’m off on Fridays. So a few weeks ago we stopped by Berlin Maryland on a warm Friday. A little town only 8 miles from Ocean City MD that we like to stop in on our way home.

We stayed at the building below, Hotel Atlantic, and spent 2 days there a few years back. Two active glassworks shops in town always pique my interest. I’m sure we will return there and stay again.

We have sampled several eateries in town and have been very happy. I love small towns in Maryland. Always so friendly and welcoming both from the merchants and locals.

It certainly has its history being incorporated as a town in 1868. If you are down this way on the first Saturday in August you should stop by for the Peach Festival.

Friday Full Discloser – I had the camera bag packed. I even had a gift card for the local BBQ spot. I stepped to the front door and noticed the rain. I paused. I took a step off the porch onto a patch of nuts that had dropped from the oak trees in front. I skated for a second till traction was regained took another step and went to my knees in pain.

I figured that was enough and if I took another slip or fall I’d be horizontal the rest of the weekend. So discretion was the better part of valor. I’ll find something to photograph inside today.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • They tell me pain is relative. I feel like mine is one who moved in and won’t leave.
  • Now that my granddaughter has started kindergarten I’ve started to mail her letters now that I’m not seeing her as often.
  • I like seeing someone’s face when they get a print of a photo I’ve shot and they like it.
  • I’ve tipped my hand far too often in life. But I’ve learned.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
