The home stretch

Welcome to October. The transition month as I think of it. Some warm days but cooler nights and then towards the end of the month that chill begins to take hold. Must be those damn pumpkins.

I’ve got 3 months to complete a lot of things and start even more. The first day of the month was devoted to our grandson though. His parents were lucky enough to be able to attend the Orioles playoff game with their best friends.

They were telling us its the first time they have been out together alone without their children in almost 2 years. So glad they could do that and they all are big fans. We see our grandson fairly often but at this age he seems to add new words to his vocabulary every day. And its a lot of fun trying to figure out what he is saying because its a language all his own at times.

I also got to spend some time with my favorite pet. My sons oldest dog. Pets are here for such a short time. They give so much love and become such a part of a family.

The second day of the month has a doctors appointment and some chores but hopefully a little shooting in the county and maybe some carving this morning and drawing this evening. And maybe I’ll sneak in another post or two.

Random Thoughts of the Morning

  • Someone needs to explain why the summer goes by so fast.
  • If you see people dancing in the street today it’s because it finally stopped raining.
  • Feeling the urge to rearrange the basement.
  • I’m moved to make a donation to the Red Cross this morning.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
