My backyard

I noticed another blogger proudly ran an image of his backyard recently and I do like mine so I thought I’d share it. Sorry the winds kind of took down a lot of the foliage. I love living in Central Maryland. And I was fortunate to have woods behind my home growing up and I have them now in my senior years.

We have been very lucky in our selection of homes. Well we only have had two. The first one we were only in for 4 years because we wanted to be back in the county we grew up in and raise our children here.

So we have been at this home for decades now. The woods and wildlife are my favorite things but I do like just about everything about the property and home. I would like a garage but I can sacrifice.

It had a pool when we moved in. Well, let me be more specific, it was a big hole in the ground with a liner that had given up years before and it was a green pond with critters. The filter was shot and the pump wasn’t running. We didn’t want a pool and wasn’t looking for a home with one but after starting a family a few years after moving in it was a nice thing.

But pools are money pits and in retrospect for what it costs to maintain and upkeep I should have filled it in long before I did. But the kids enjoyed it so it served it’s purpose for a while.

I was out today looking at a firepit for the area that the pool used to reside. I’ll take my better half back later this week and see what we can get.

A busy evening ahead, for the photo printer.

Random Thoughts of the Day

  • Grilling season is fading quickly. But despite the 50 & 60 degree temps I will persist tonight.
  • I’m really in need of a Yankee victory tonight.
  • Looking for my second wind. Didn’t sleep well last night.
  • Time to switch wardrobes.
  • Treadmill time again? Yep. Away I go. I knew I’d pay as soon as I saw that candy come in the house.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.
