I shot this a few weeks back because that sign “Studio One” caught my attention. The thought of creating a studio in my home has been a wish for a bit and I’m starting to take steps towards it. Got my first light about a year ago. I’ve got a few tripods and I found my good flash.

Through some creative means, I’ve got a few backdrops. I’m cleaning out some old family items and creating some space for work. It’s just the time for it because as you may have heard me grouse about, the cold weather. So I’m thinking of a name for my Studio. I’ll get back you on that one.

I’m kind of excited about the coming holidays and maybe doing some portraits when the family is over. Unlike previous years when I was working nights, I hope to utilize the coming season to capture a lot of the spirit of the holidays in lights.

But first, there is today. And that means getting outside and some shooting on this beautiful Monday in central Maryland.

• I’ve never lived in a home with a garage.
• I cried the first time I heard Taps and every time since then.
• Found a happy picture of myself when I was young. Of course, there was a pet in my lap.
• There is a scene awaiting my camera so I must go.
