Doors – round 2

Wow, thank you for the feedback and welcome to the ThursdayDoors last week. Like I said, I hope to be a regular contributor. I’m just starting to wade through the previous posts in this area and I’m stunned by the wonderful images.

This first shot below isn’t so much a unique door but the reflection of the crosswalk signs, one on each side of the street reflected in each of the two doors with the arrows pointing opposite directions. I’ll have to go back one morning and see if I can capture it without the truck reflection also.

I like this series below better, but it wasn’t as positive a door as the one above. The next few shots are of the old Howard County Jail.

Here is the history of this building and site from Wikipedia which goes back to the 1800s.

A bit spooky even on a sunny day.

The doors and ramp from the jail to the Courthouse just feet away.

And thanks again to the creator of this and link to Dan’s site.

With a lifetime and a half in the Newspaper industry I'm preparing for my retirement career as an Artist, Writer, Photographer and Video content provider. I'm a proud father of two wonderful children and I'm still married to the first girl I fell in love with and probably only one that would have me.

  1. Excellent response

  2. Welcome back, Mike. You brought another great collection. I love reflections, and the colorful ones in that first door are fun. The other doors are equally wonderful. I always enjoy seeing iron work.

  4. Fascinating stone building, Mike!

  5. Excellent selection and presentation Mike. You captured well (I think) the whole environment of the door’s location which I enjoy. The fall colors and trees in contrast to the incredible stonework on the fascades was an elegant contrast in the photos which I enjoy. Great share. Love the first door!
